Absolutely!!! If you don’t spend time on the waters around Amelia Island you are missing a wonderful and unique experience. As a long time winter resident recently said after chartering us for a boating tour of the Amelia River: “This is a whole new world that I never dreamed was available even though we have been here every winter since the early 70’s”. He and his wife are already planning to take their children and grandchildren out with us on their next visit.

The Island, obviously, is surrounded by water; the Atlantic Ocean on the east, the St. Mary’s River separating us from Georgia on the north, the Amelia river on the west (the river you cross as you drive over the high bridge onto the Island) and the combined Nassau and Amelia rivers flowing into the ocean on the south end (also crossed by a bridge). While the ocean is easily viewed and enjoyed by visitors, the rivers, while visible from the bridges and the city docks are not readily accessible other than by boat. This means that visitors and residents cannot enjoy the local waters and estuarine environment that is teeming with birds, fish and other wildlife unless a boat is available.

Without a boat you can’t take a ride around the island to see the “whole new world” as Jack described it; nor can you take the grandkids for a ride to see the birds, dolphins, manatees etc. No boat means that you can’t get to the good fishing spots or teach the kids to catch blue crabs for a tasty dinner. No sunset cruises around the island or seeing Cumberland Island from the east to appreciate an undeveloped barrier island. No boat means you are missing the wonderful, unique activities that Amelia Island offers on the water.

“No boat” is the problem that we are solving with Amelia Family Charters!! Charter us for any of the activities described above or any other activity that a boat owner has available.

A short list of some of these boating activities is: fishing, taking visiting friends or relatives on a boat trip, a sunset cruise on the river, bird watching, cruising to Cumberland Island, seeing Ft. Clinch and downtown Fernandina by water, going to the Landings in Jacksonville by water, taking the kids or grandkids boating, fishing, crabbing, etc (or we will take them while you golf, play tennis or just relax). The list is endless and you can do one or all of them by chartering us to Discover Amelia Island by Water!
