We hope that you would charter us because we are nice, friendly and want you to enjoy the many wonderful activities available on Amelia Island’s waterways. But, just in case you’re more pragmatic than that, here are some other reasons.

Chartering us is much more cost effective than owning your own boat for casual use. No boat payments or tying your money up in a depreciating asset, no insurance costs, no worrying that BOAT is an acronym for Break Out Another Thousand. Unless you use your boat almost every week of the year, we should be more cost effective for you.

We also provide you with a boating experience that is free of the problems and headaches that are part of boat ownership. If you have ever owned a boat (or know someone who has) you understand the headaches we are talking about.

If not, here are some from my personal experiences when I didn’t live here but owned a boat that I only used when visiting home: crowds at launching ramps (even worse at the end of the day after some boaters have been drinking all day), cleaning the boat after a long day in the hot sun, trailer tires are flat (discovered after the family is all packed, ready to go boating and it is 95 degrees in the shade), dead battery, steering cable frozen and the list goes on forever. Now that I reminisce, Forget the cost savings, eliminating these headaches and the associated lost vacation or weekend time is the best reason to charter instead of owning a boat!
